Advice: hotels in La Spezia are much cheaper than in the Cinque Terre's villages; moreover, you can always go out and walk in the heart of the town in the evening. Full of tourists, concerts are very frequently conducted there (night life of the villages is not so likely). The main disadvantage is that there is no beach in La Spezia: the entire coast is occupied by port and military base.
